Dreamhack Tours: Behind the Man of Mystery

As Kieran Toastmonster Kane, Ben BigBen Chapman and Alister Mysterious Kerridge head to France this weekend to compete in the Hearthstone Dreamhack Tours. Mysterious takes a moment to step back and reflect on the upcoming tournament this weekend.

Can you introduce yourself?
Hello, I’m Alister Mysterious Kerridge and I’m a professional Hearthstone player for MnM Gaming. I was a French player but I decided to move in the UK two years ago for a work opportunity so I am now mostly playing on the UK circuit and a few European tournaments like DreamHack and HCT Tour stop.

How long have you been playing Hearthstone?
I’ve been playing Hearthstone for 4 years now and 2 years very competitively since. Even after all this time, I still enjoy it because the game is constantly changing and evolving which does not give you the time to get bored.

What does Hearthstone mean for you ?
Hearthstone means to me first of all having a good time. I always enjoy playing a few games after a long day of my day job but the part of the game that I enjoy the most is having the opportunity to travel in other countries to play in the biggest tournaments against the best players in the worlds. I’ve also met some great people at all these events which makes my travels even better and fun!

What would it mean to you to win a DH Tours ?
Winning the DreamHack Tours would mean a lot to me because I’ve never won a Major event like this one. When I was younger, I was dreaming about simply going to the Dreamhack in Sweden and now I have the opportunity to not only go to these events to watch but also to compete in it!

Is it more pressure that Tours is near your home?
Playing near my « French » home in Tours doesn’t add any more pressure, on the contrary, I feel a bit like at home which is a really good feeling. I’ve been also working on BigBen and Toastmonster pressure by giving them some nice French breakfast full of croissant, éclair au chocolat and chouquettes so they can be at the top of their performance mentally and physically hahaha!
