Interview with the new kid on the block
The new UKLC has been a great platform to showcase UK talent. This is something that we hold close to our core values and it is most prevalent with our League of Legends Middle Lane Player, Chibs. This is his first time playing in a competitive team and Week 1 was his first time in the competitive light. He is one of the only 2 starting Mid Players from the UK in the entire tournament and finished last year among the Top 200 ranked players in Europe (West).
We caught up with the promising player after the first UKLC Tower Tournament (Week 1) to hear how he was feeling about adapting to this competitive environment.
Week 1 of UKLC has finally finished. How does it feel having played your first two competitive League of Legends games?
I feel quite good now. I have a team who are supportive and nice, this helps motivate me and makes a relaxing professional environment. I got MVP in my debut game so I am happy with my progress considering most people still see me as a rookie.
Some people could say you made a few mistakes early game in your first game against Bulldog Esports. Were you nervous or just still warming up?
Obviously I was nervous before and during the game. It was my first competitive match and I felt that I had a lot to prove. Fortunately irrespective of a few mistakes, the team kept me calm and I was able to get a triple kill in the Bottom Lane.
What do you have to say to all the people who doubted your skill before the split started ?
I saw that a lot of people rated me quite lowly compared to other Mid Lane Players. In reality that doesn’t bother me and I just want to concentrate on my own game, keep improving as a team and as an individual.
